TV chef Martin Yan and former Top Chef contestant Lee Anne Wong will host an awards ceremony for the Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in America on November 11 in New York City.  It will be the 4th annual event organized by Chinese Restaurant News for this $17.5 billion segment of the U.S. dining industry.

Part of this year's event will be devoted to promoting healthy cooking.  "As New York becomes the first city to ban trans fat, this is a prime opportunity for Chinese restaurants to showcase the healthy aspects of Chinese cuisine," said Chef Martin Yan. "Chinese cooking has always emphasized a well-balanced approach. Our traditional diet is one that's rich in vegetables and natural fibers. It's time for Chinese restaurant chefs to get back to our roots."

The celebration will take place as part of the Cultural Food Expo at the Jacob Javits Center.
