New Bread Site Rises to Serve Busy Bakers

Interested in baking bread but think that doing so takes too much time and effort? Enter Breadtopia.com, a new web site devoted to providing text and video instruction on how to make what it claims are tasty, easy loaves of bread. Based in Fairfield, Iowa, Eric Rusch has turned his passion for bread baking into a business that aims to help those just getting interested in it.
"Walk into a home where someone's baking bread and just smell the fragrant aroma of freshly made dough baking in the oven," says Rusch. "It makes friends and family feel instantly welcome and entices everyone to sit down and chat over a cup of coffee or tea and break bread."
The videos on the site provide step-by-step directions for a "no knead" method of bread baking that appears deceptively simple. It results in what appears to be what one might describe as a rustic farm bread with a crispy crust, not traditional sandwich bread that one might find at the market. While the videos are clearly not professionally done, they are clear and understandable.
The site itself provides a number of variations for the viewer to consider, all of them focused on keeping it simple. After all, Rusch explains, "Although making bread from scratch results in a superior loaf, the fact is our hectic lifestyle often precludes many from diving deep into the dough."
